The USM-RC-3 sound module is the successor model of our proven USM-RC-2 sound module. The module has been extensively revised, improved and some functions have been added - and all this in the same small design of 65 x 43 x 17 mm.

The sound module were developed especially for RC model building to equip all types of models with true to original and speed-dependent sounds, numerous lighting options and additional servo movements.

Due to the extensive setting options, each model can be individually and uniquely designed according to your own ideas. Over 140 preset projects for trucks, cars, ships, construction vehicles and airplanes make it easy and fast to get started.

All settings are stored on a micro SD card and can thus be changed at any time. All you need is a PC, an SD card reader or the K-USB-2 data cable and our USM-RC-3 Sound-Teacher software. The program is compatible with all Windows versions. However, with a free emulator, such as WineBottler and Wine, the software can also be used with other operating systems.

For a faithful sound of the model, sounds can be selected for the following areas: Driving and engine sounds for two engines (speed-dependent) Additional sounds (e.g. horns, bells, sirens and hydraulic sounds) Random sounds (e.g. compressed air sounds or animal and ambient sounds) WAV player (e.g. songs)

A loudspeaker with an impedance between 4 and 8 ohms and a power of at least 8 W can be connected to the sound module. For optimal sound, we recommend using a speaker enclosure (resonator).

To realize various lighting effects, the USM-RC-3 has 16 switching outputs to which, for example, LEDs, lamps and relays can be connected. Light functions such as low beam, back-up light, brake light, turn signals, warning lights, flickering lights, etc. can thus be easily realized and controlled. All light functions can be automatically activated or deactivated to match the sound and movement.

For automatically running light effects, 8 time-controlled output sequences can be set. For each step it can be defined which outputs should be switched on in a certain brightness. This makes it easy to implement different party lights, all-round lights, running lights or warning lights.

For the connection of particularly strong consumers (with a high current consumption), such as smoke generators, an extra high current output with 3 A is available.

The sound module also has an extra output for connecting the IR transmitter diode for the LM-IR-16-4 light module or the Bluetooth transmitter for the LM-BT-16-4 light module. This allows the light and servo signals to be transmitted wirelessly to a semi-trailer and trailer.

All light and additional functions of the sound module can be controlled via Nautic and Multiswitch modules and via the smartphone app SFR-1 Controller. The smartphone app can then be used as a graphical "multiswitch module", but driving control is not possible via it, compared to the SFR series.

With four additional servo outputs, movements such as those of windshield wipers can be easily controlled and coordinated with the sound being played. Speed controllers can also be connected to the servo outputs to control additional motors.

Like its predecessor, the USM-RC-2 sound module has various operating modes. These become relevant as soon as no commercial remote control with a receiver and proportional channels is used.

In 99% of applications, digital operation (optionally with UFR-1230 speed controller) is used, in which the sound module is connected in parallel with the speed controller via the proportional channels on the receiver. Here the module receives the speed and steering information and plays the correct driving sound to match and switches automatic functions, such as switching the turn signals on and off or the hazard warning lights when reversing.

The analog and mix mode is mainly used for non-standard RC remote control systems or for speed controllers with special functions, such as cruise control. The driving speed of the model is taken directly from the drive motor(s). Various switches or switch modules can be connected to 4 or 8 switch inputs to control the functions.
