Introduction: On October 7, 1944, Urban L. Drew - also known as "Ben" Drew - was one of only three USAAF pilots to encounter the then-new Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter during a combat mission over enemy territory, subsequently becoming the first and only Allied pilot to shoot down two of these jet-powered aircraft in his P-51D "Detroit Miss". Overview: The P-51D Mustang is considered one of the most legendary fighter aircraft of all time! Its unique design made it one of the most powerful fighter aircraft flown during the Second World War. The "Detroit Miss" is a historic P-51D Mustang flown by Urban "Ben" Drew, who in 1944 became the first USAAF pilot to shoot down two jet-powered Messerschmitt Me 262 fighters. The E-flite UMX P-51D Mustang is an ultra-micro model of this famous aircraft, which is a warbird version of the popular UMX P-51D Voodoo. It is equipped with expertly tuned AS3X and optional SAFE Select technology, is compatible with 2S and 3S batteries and offers real-time battery voltage telemetry for compatible transmitters. Due to its ultra-small size, the UMX P-51 can be flown in more places and on smaller surfaces than larger models! The fixed landing gear with steerable tail wheel makes taxiing, takeoff and landing on smooth surfaces easy. You can also leave the landing gear removed and hand launch the model for increased airspeed and vertical climb performance. It's the most affordable and good-natured replica of a P-51D Mustang yet!
