Man-carrying airplanes have their very own charm when they are reproduced as a model. So does our replica of the Cessna 185, which got the nickname Skywagon because of its transport capacity for up to 6 people.

The original had its maiden flight in 1960 and was built until 1981. A total of about 6,200 of this type were delivered. Our model was constructed with a wingspan of just under two meters in a scale of approx. 1:5.5. The size was deliberately chosen to create just manageable dimensions with a voluminous model at the same time. The model is built entirely in wood. All parts were precisely designed and laser-cut for this purpose. The fuselage is mainly made of solid plywood and is ideally suited for both combustion engines and electric drives. The wings are built from a sturdy plywood-balsa combination and are fully planked, which gives the wings exceptional stability and torsional strength.

Just like the original, the model has large landing flaps which can be folded down to 90° by means of special hinges. This makes landing easy even on smaller airfields. All control surfaces are visually enhanced by stiffening that is true to the original. The window frames are installed separately, the doors to the cockpit are already indicated on the fuselage. For the removal of the cockpit, components for an instrument panel are included, giving the model a realistic appearance. The landing gear is made of GRP and is included in the kit colored white. Also included are the matching air wheels and the steerable tail gear.

For the assembly of the wooden parts, slipways and templates are included in the kit, with which the construction will succeed even with less in-depth knowledge of wood construction. Detailed building instructions in 3D style show each individual building stage and thus lead to quick building success.
