Swift S-1 Glider 2400mm ARF - blue

At the end of the 80's of the 20th century, the Polish company Marganski & Myslowski Zaklady Lotnicze realized that there was a gap in the market of aerobatic gliders - the good old all-wood model Kobuz 3 SZD-21-2b, designed in the 50's, was no longer sufficient. So, in 1991, designers Edward Marganski and Jerzy Cisowski, with the assistance of Jerzy Makula (at that time a three-time world champion in glider acrobatics), developed the new Swift S-1 model, a modern all-composite aerobatic glider with an incredible roll speed (only 4 seconds), which also manages loads of +/-10 g. The reward came almost immediately - Jerzy Makula won his fourth FAI World Championship title in glider acrobatics in the same year! And now you can enjoy flying with the semiscale of this beautiful glider with a wingspan of 2400 mm, powered by a powerful brushless motor!

The fuselage of the model is made of the highly durable EPO foam (extruded polyolefin) with solid internal carbon fiber reinforcements. The C3548-750 brushless electric motor with an 11x8-inch folding propeller and a KAVAN R-50SB governor with a powerful BEC stabilizer required to power 4 powerful micro servos on board is installed in the bow. The cabin cover is removable and is attached with a pin at the front and a magnet at the rear. In the bow you will find enough space for a drive battery and a receiver. The rudder and elevator servos are located in the fin, and the rudders are controlled by short straight linkages.

The wing of the model made of EPO foam consists of two parts with carbon fiber strips, whose led out parts also serve as wing connectors and fit into the duralumin housings in the fuselage. The wing halves are attached with a plastic screw. The ailerons over the whole span of the wing (reinforced with carbon fiber tubes) are controlled independently by two servos with short straight wire rods.

The tailplane is also made of EPO foam with reinforcements of carbon fiber tubes. The tailplane is attached to the fuselage with two screws and is easy to assemble and disassemble.

The model is powered by the C3548-750 class brushless motor with the KAVAN R-50SB 50 A regulator.

For power supply you need a LiPo 4-cell pack with a capacity of 2200-2700 mAh and a minimum load of 30C. Choose a concrete type so that the correct center of gravity position is maintained as well as possible without further ballast.

To control the model, you can also use a 4-channel computer RC set without special functions - in the basic version, the ailerons are always connected to only one channel with a Y-cable. Of course, it is ideal to use at least a 6-channel computer RC set, which allows independent control of ailerons by two servos and a mix for the airbrake. In this case, both ailerons control upward. This is also possible with the affordable Radiolink AT9S, AT10II or Futaba T6K and T10J transmitters. In this case the Y-cable of the ailerons in the fuselage must be replaced by two single (15-30 cm) extension cables. In the manual, of course, there is also a detailed table with a proven standard setting of the rudder deflections (including mixer), so you can easily prepare Swift S-1 for flight.
