Torro 1/16 Figures Series Figure "Michael Wittmann" tank commander Hauptsturmführer

On August 8, 1944, Michael Wittmann was involved in an engagement with a group of 5 Sherman Firefly tanks near Cintheaux, between Caen and Falaise. Ultimately, the superiority was too great and he was killed in the engagement, having previously destroyed 2 of the enemy tanks and shot one out of action. None of Wittmann's crew survived and along with them he was buried in a community cemetery in Hamlet of Gaumesnil. A week later, the Allies closed the cauldron of Falaise and pinned down the German troops who were there.
