Vaurien sailing dinghy kit
The Vaurien dinghy is an internationally popular racing dinghy. Jean Jacques Herbulot constructed the lightweight and inexpensive boat from plywood in 1951 for the Les Glénans sailing school. Since 1961, the Vaurient has been recognized by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) as an international standard class.
More than 36,000 boats have now been built. Due to the bent-span construction, the Vaurien sails stably and can be easily mastered even by beginners. The Vaurien is well suited for sail training - sailing it optimally fast requires skill at the helm and good teamwork.
The model was accurately reproduced in our dinghy scale 1:10 using original drawings kindly provided by the class association vaurien.de and photos. Many details could be realized in this model by modern laser production. The kit contains all wooden parts accurately laser cut. Wooden parts can be stained to the desired wood color before assembly. Fittings are etched from brass. The mast and main boom are assembled from several laser parts and then sanded. The sails have also already been laser cut out in their courses.
Construction plan and instructions with many detail sketches are also included in the kit.
