Billing Boats BB0408 WSP-10 Passau police boat RC construction kit 1:20

The 15 m long and 3.90 m wide boat was built in 1989 at Bodan-Werft GmbH in Kreßborn on Lake Constance. On June 30, 1989, the WSP 10 was put into service for the Bavarian Water Police Directorate with its home port of Passau on the Danube. The type designation of this boat is 'Streckenboot'. Two MAN diesel engines, each with 300 hp, give the boat a speed of approx. 40 km/h. In normal service, the boat is operated by 2 men, who ensure that the technology works well, such as radar, echo sounder, self-steering system, 4 radios and explosion protection, i.e. overpressure can be generated and fresh air can be sucked in via the funnels (in the event of tanker accidents). The tasks of the boat and its crew are very diverse and range from monitoring, especially in the case of dangerous goods, assistance of all kinds, normal police tasks, as they are also carried out by police colleagues on land. Environmental protection has become an important factor to which the crews devote a great deal of attention. "WSP 10" monitors a section from the German-Austrian border to approx. 80 km upstream.

In addition to the thermoformed plastic hull, the kit from Billing Boats contains the individual parts required to build the model. All wooden parts are precisely laser-cut. A large building plan sheet, step-by-step building instructions with many illustrations, as well as all the wooden, plastic and fitting parts required for construction are included.
