The Type VII was probably the most famous submarine in the world, as over 1000 were built in various versions. This type is characterized by its particularly harmonious lines, which resemble even more a ship than those of more modern submarines. This model of the submarine type VII b is in its basic configuration a construction kit with all thermoformed parts made of high quality ABS plastic, which are needed to build a pure floor model. If you want to make the model drivable and submersible, you will need the propulsion and diving kit. However, larger depth rudders must be used than those of the scale model. A subsequent conversion from a floor model to a submersible model is not possible.

The hull of the Type VII b submarine consists of two ABS half-shells, the diving tank, ballast tank as well as the deck, which is deep-drawn from thin material so that all slits and openings are clearly visible. The turret superstructure is also assembled from several thermoformed ABS parts. All hardware parts as well as the two guns are included in the basic kit.

The technology: The diving method of this model is semi-dynamic, which means that a pump and a flood tank are included in the diving kit, but only supportive to the dynamic (supported by speed) diving.
