This floor model is a recreation of the F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage". The F4U-1 featured a unique 2,000 horsepower engine and a massive 4 meter propeller, plus very distinctive inverted wing doors. The Corsair was the first American fighter, which reached a speed of 640 Km/h. The aircraft took part in operations from 1943 and proved to be a formidable opponent for the Japanese Zero Fighters due to its powerful 12.7mm machine guns. The model kit version impresses with accuracy of fit as well as detail.
