TAMIYA always has an open ear for its customers and now fulfills the widely expressed desire for a new edition of the classic Toyota Hilux. The superbly detailed pick-up body is mounted on the same chassis as the Ford F-350 High-Lift and combines nostalgia with modern mechanics. The radio-controlled Toyota Hilux High-Lift amazes at first glance with a wealth of authentic details: true-to-original lettering, plastically molded turn signals and headlights, a real ladder frame - and even leaf springs catch the eye. TAMIYA has created a monument to the legendary prototype, which was built over 12 million times. The model shows the generation first released in 1979 with round headlights. Mud and silt are no problem for the all-wheel drive chassis: in addition to permanent 4x4 drive, the model even has manually lockable differentials and if a slope does seem too steep, simply shift down a gear. Because the mini pick-up even has a shiftable three-speed gearbox. The 49-centimeter RC version lives up to the Hilux legend. The solid hard plastic body and the massive ladder frame can take a lot of punishment, while the lush leaf springs struggle unimpressed over hill and dale. The scope of delivery also includes a small surfboard that can be used to recreate the Californian custom style.
