Our kits of historical train models invite you on a journey to the time before the spread of the locomotive.
The BR 18.4 was built at J.A. Maffei, Munich. The first locomotive was delivered on July 16, 1908. The BR 18.4 belonged to the so-called Pacific locomotives with axle arrangement 2'C1' and the typical large wheels. It was the largest locomotive built by this manufacturer at the time and is considered to be the most beautiful express locomotive of the Länderbahn era.
The S 3/6 ran excellently, especially on long-distance routes. In 1951, it pulled a 150-ton express train the 820-km route from Hamburg to Munich, stopping only to refuel with water. The "S" stands for express locomotive, the number 3/6 for the ratio between driving axles and total axles.
The locomotive was mainly used in Bavaria on long-distance routes, but it also pulled such famous trains as the Orient Express and the Rheingold, the Ostend-Vienna Express and the Paris-Karlsbad-Prague Express. In the course of its history, various versions were built, with changes primarily to the driver's cab, boiler and engine mechanisms.
Step by step, assemble a detailed replica of a historic train model.
And in the end be pleased with a successful lokomotiven S3/6 BR-18, which you can proudly display in your collection.
